Guys & Dolls Couples Tournament Announces the Regional/USA Couples Championship -- September 24-27, 2002

The Guys & Dolls Couples Tournament Trail announces their 2002 Regional Invitational and USA Couples Championship in Kissimmee, Florida on Lake Tohopekaliga and the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes on September 24-27, 2002. Kissimmee-St. Cloud Conventions and Visitors Bureau, Quality Inn Conference Center and Howard Johnson’s Kissimmee will be hosting this event. Approximately 150 couples from all over the southeast will be fishing - Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, North and South Carolina and Florida.

The Chain of Lakes are located in Osceola County and has over 100,00 acres of water. The sparkling, shallow lakes and natural streams allow visitors to step back in time and see the real natural Florida that is often overlooked. Many of the lakes are accessible through a series of canals and navigation locks. This allows boaters a greater flexibility to travel from lake to lake without having to take their boat out of the water. The Kissimmee Chain of Lakes is recognized worldwide as one of the most popular destinations for anglers due to the excellent fishery that provides a great opportunity to catch "the big one." The site of the record catch made by Dean Rojas in January of 2001 with one day catch of five bass weighing 45.02 pounds. You just never know what the next cast will reel in!

Not only is their great fishing in the area with the natural attractions there are manyman-made attractions with Disney World, Epcot Center, Universal Studies, and Sea World- Orlando all being within 20 miles of the tournament location. Kissimmee-St. Cloud also offers a rodeo, professional baseball, a quiet stroll through downtown historicdistricts sightseeing and antiquing through the many shops. They offer fascinatingdiversity and endless options for entertainment and adventure.

The Guys & Dolls Regional Invitational will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 24-25, with weigh-in each day at the Lakefront City Park in downtown Kissimmee,at 3:00 PM. Approximately 150 couples will be competing for a chance to finish inthe top twenty positions to qualify to fish in the USA Couples Championship. There willbe a drawing on Wednesday afternoon for one couple to trailer home a beautiful Ranger185 bass boat on a Rangertrail trailer, powered by a 150 Evinrude outboard motorand Lowrance Electronics, valued at over $23,000.00.

The Guys & Dolls USA Couples Championship will be held on Thursday and Friday,September 26 and 27. Weigh-in each day will be at the Lakefront City Park at 3:00 PM.There are 31 couples who have pre-qualified through their separate divisions thatwill compete with the top 20 finishers of the Regional for First Place to win aRanger 518V Bass Boat on a Rangertrail trailer, powered by a 200 Evinrude horsepower motor and Lowrance Electronics valued at over $32,000.00.

There is a possibility of taking home two Ranger Boats from this tournament valued at over $55,000.00, not counting on the fun and fellowship everyone will have meeting and fishing with all of the other couples from over the southeast. All of the couples willbe treated to a cook-out during the weigh-in on Wednesday afternoon while all of thetournament information is tallied together. There will be a mini-award ceremony held at the park immediately following the weigh-in to honor the winner of this most prestigioustournament. All of the Championship contestants will be honored at an award banquet on Friday evening at the Quality Inn Conference Center. All of the Championship contestants will receive a "goody bag" valued at over $400.00 with gifts from Ranger Boats and allof our national sponsors and Championship sponsors.
