(Oct. 16, 2013 - Calcium NY) On October 12-13th The Bass Federation (TBF) held their annual State Team Qualifier (STQ) tournament on Lake Champlain with their base of operations out of Port Henry. Weather conditions were stable for three days leading into the event to include day one. However, day two the big lake showed her colors as Mother Nature produced sustained SSE winds of 8-15 mph.


Championship event pays out over $105,000 to competitors
(Oct. 14, 2013 - NORMAN, OK.) Bill Wilcox, of Burleson, Texas, and Gib Coats, of Fort Worth, Texas, brought 48.56 pounds of bass to the scales to win the two-day championship event of the Texas Team Trail presented by Cabela's (TXTT) on Oct. 13 at Falcon Lake. The winning anglers took home a brand new, fully rigged Ranger Z119C boat powered by an Evinrude outboard, valued at $45,000.

Ray wins co-angler title
(Oct. 12, 2013 - LAKEPORT, CA.) Jody Jordan of Vacaville, Calif., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 28 pounds, 10 ounces Saturday to win the EverStart Series Western Division event presented by Mercury Marine on Clear Lake with a three-day total of 15 bass weighing 81 pounds, 1 ounce. For his victory, Jordan earned $28,958 and a Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard motor.

In fact, just three months ago the Rogers, Ark., resident was kicking tires and comparing options on the latest models when something told him to hold off for a while. It's just as well because Wilson was the winner of the Toyota All-Star Fan Favorite Angler Sweepstakes and a new 2014 Toyota Tundra valued at $35,000.


Bray Claims Co-angler Title
(Oct. 06, 2013 - Jasper, TX) Jason Wells of Center, Texas, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 18 pounds, 3 ounces Saturday to win the EverStart Series Texas Division event on Sam Rayburn Reservoir presented by Power-Pole. Wells' three-day total of 15 bass weighing 57 pounds, 14 ounces earned him $24,881.

(Oct. 06, 2013 - JASPER, TX) The Hardin-Simmons University team of Randy Sullivan of Breckenridge, Texas, and Hubbell Allen of Abilene, Texas, won the FLW College Fishing Southern Conference Invitational on Sam Rayburn Reservoir Sunday with a five-bass limit weighing 8 pounds, 11 ounces. Their two-day total of 10 bass weighing 30-13 earned the club $4,000 and qualified the team for the 2014 FLW College Fishing National Championship.


BQ cook-off, kids' zone and off-road test tracks highlight weekend
(Oct. 06, 2013 - CONROE, TX) After the top 10 anglers competed on Sunday, Keith Combs of Huntington, TX claimed the championship at the Toyota Texas Bass Classic. Dominating the weekend, Combs won wire-to-wire staying in the lead all three days of competition.


Iowa duo win Crappie Masters event with 27.83 pounds of Crappie
(Oct. 01, 2013 - COLUMBIA, S.C.) Diversity is key to any fishermen, but Tommy Skarlis is taking it to another level, adding 2013 Crappie Master National Champion to his resume. The Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters National Championship took place this past weekend Grenada Lake and featured two Iowa residents that claimed the title. Weighing in 27.83 of crappie, Skarlis and teammate Kyle Steinfeldt took home the top honors, beating the nearest competitors by over two pounds.

"It was totally a surprise - a good one," he said. The ring was just the beginning of good things on Friday for the Petal, Miss., pro. Soon after he received the diamond-encrusted ring, he learned that his 14 pounds, 4 ounces of Muskegon Lake bass was enough to take the first-day lead

(Sep. 24, 2013 - GILBERTSVILLE, KY.) Brent Anderson of Kingston Springs, Tenn., weighed in a two-day total of 10 bass totaling 43 pounds, 9 ounces Sunday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League LBL Division super tournament on Kentucky and Barkley lakes. For his victory, Anderson earned $5,517.

Warden wins co-angler title
(Sep. 24, 2013 - ROCKWOOD,TN) Brian Hazel of Clinton, Tenn., weighed in a two-day total of 10 bass totaling 30 pounds, 14 ounces Sunday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Volunteer Division super tournament on Watts Bar Lake. For his victory, Hazel earned $4,268.

(Sep. 22, 2013 - HOT SPRINGS, AR.) The University of Arkansas team of Kenneth Anderson and Drew Porto, both of Fayetteville, Ark., won the FLW College Fishing Southern Conference event on Lake Hamilton Sunday with five bass weighing 7 pounds, 14 ounces. The victory earned the club $2,000 and advanced the team to the FLW College Fishing Southern Conference Invitational tournament.

Known for its abundant largemouth bass population the outcome of a tournament can change in one bite, or in this case four bites.

At this bass tournament eight states send a 12 angler team to compete for top honors with the top two anglers on each team qualifying for the 2014 TBF National Championship.

(Sep. 09, 2013 - OSAGE BEACH, MO.) Joe Brantley of Willard, Mo., weighed a two-day total of 10 bass totaling 35 pounds, 13 ounces to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Ozark Division super tournament on Lake of the Ozarks on Sunday. For his victory, Brantley earned $5,632.

(Sep. 09, 2013 - CLAYTON, N.Y.) Brian Bylotas of Scott Township, Pa., weighed a two-day total of 10 bass totaling 48 pounds, 2 ounces to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Northeast Division super tournament at 1000 Islands on Sunday. For his victory, Bylotas earned $5,817.

(Sep. 09, 2013 - SALISBURY, N.C.) James Blankenship of Lexington, N.C., weighed a 10-bass limit totaling 33 pounds, 8 ounces Sunday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League North Carolina Division event on High Rock Lake. For his victory, Blankenship earned $5,196.

(Sep. 09, 2013 - LAWRENCEBURG, IN.) Chris Wilkinson of Farmersburg, Ind., weighed a 10-bass limit totaling 16 pounds even Sunday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Buckeye Division event on the Ohio River at Tanner's Creek. For his victory, Wilkinson earned $4,540.

(Sep. 09, 2013 - IUKA, MS.) Michael Wooley of Collierville, Tenn., weighed a two-day total of 10 bass totaling 45 pounds, 3 ounces Sunday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Mississippi Division event on Pickwick Lake. For his victory, Wooley earned $8,230.

In the highlight of his pro fishing career, James Watson of Waynesville, Missouri won the Bass Pro Shops PAA Tournament Series tournament on Table Rock Lake in Branson, Missouri today. Watson, who qualified for his first FLW Forrest Wood Cup championship this year, has been on the FLW Tour four years. He's also been fishing the PAA Series for four years.


(Aug. 30, 2013 - OACOMA, S.D.) South Dakota angler Monty Fralick took an unexpected swim in Lake Francis Case en route to winning his first B.A.S.S. Nation Northern Divisional. "I had dropped my [brand new] sunglasses, and I saw them going down, and I thought I could catch them," the 60-year-old Fralick said. "I caught them, and I learned that I could still swim. My partner just pulled me back over the side, and we just kept fishing."

(Aug. 27, 2013 - TRENTON, MI.) Jared Rhode of Port Clinton, Ohio, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 22 pounds even Saturday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Michigan Division event on the Detroit River. For his victory, Rhode earned $5,071.

(Aug. 27, 2013 - PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, WI.) Rick Miller of Eastman, Wis., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 17 pounds, 5 ounces Saturday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Great Lakes Division event on the Mississippi River at Prairie Du Chien. For his victory, Miller earned $3,963.

(Aug. 27, 2013 - LAWRENCEBURG, IN.) Kyle Weisenburger of Ottawa, Ohio, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 9 pounds, 6 ounces Saturday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Buckeye Division event on the Ohio River at Tanner's Creek. For his victory, Weisenburger earned $3,418.

(Aug. 23, 2013 - DETROIT, MI) Mullygrubs? Yup. Mark Davis said he had them on Thursday, the first day of the Bassmaster Elite Series Plano Championship Chase out of Detroit, Mich. He said he caught the mullygrubs after not boating two big smallmouth bass he hooked. He settled for second place.

The 2012 Bassmaster Classic champ wants to qualify for the 2014 Classic because it's on his adopted home water, Alabama's Lake Guntersville. Tharp becomes third straight Evinrude angler to capture bass fishing's top prize
(Aug. 20, 2013 - Sturtevant, WI.) After losing his lead on day three of the tournament, Team Evinrude angler Randall Tharp came roaring back on Sunday to capture his first FLW Forrest Wood Cup on the Red River in Shreveport, La. Tharp led the way for Team Evinrude, whose anglers swept the top five spots, making the 2013 tournament the most successful ever for bass pros running the Evinrude E-TEC engine.


Florida Angler Amasses 53 Pounds of Bass, Wins $500,000
(Aug. 18, 2013 - SHREVEPORT, LA.) EverStart pro Randall Tharp of Port St. Joe, Fla., crossed the stage with a five-bass limit weighing 14 pounds even Sunday to claim the title of Forrest Wood Cup champion at the Forrest Wood Cup at the Red River presented by Walmart.


North Carolina Angler Takes 4-Ounce Lead In To Final Day
(Aug. 17, 2013 - SHREVEPORT, LA.) Chevy pro Bryan Thrift of Shelby, N.C., brought a five-bass limit to the scales weighing 9 pounds, 15 ounces to lead day three of the Forrest Wood Cup at the Red River presented by Walmart. Thrift, with a three-day total of 15 bass for 39-6, holds a 4-ounce lead over previous leader EverStart pro Randall Tharp of Port St. Joe, Fla., who weighed five bass weighing 9-7 for a three-day total of 15 bass for 39-2.
