(Apr. 22, 2004 - CHICAGO, IL) The panel of judges, drawn from Boating Writers International (BWI) to determine the recipients of the NMMA Innovation Awards being presented at the Marine Aftermarket Accessories Trade Show (MAATS), have been announced. MAATS is being held July 8-11 at the Las Vegas Hilton in conjunction with the S.T.E.P. Conference (S.T.E.P. dates are July 7-8; MAATS July 8-11).

The Innovation Awards program, organized by NMMA and judged by BWI, is the recreational boating industry's highest honor for product excellence, recognizing those products that best meet the following criteria:
The members of BWI serving as judges for the program each have particular expertise in the award categories.
Up to nine aftermarket products will be recognized during the MAATS Award reception on July 10. NMMA Innovation Awards are also presented each year at IBEX and Miami, for the product categories represented at those shows. More than 40 new product entries are expected at this year's event, as MAATS continues to establish itself as the premier forum for new product introductions in the marine aftermarket.
Participants in the "New Product Previews" at MAATS are automatically entered in the Awards program and will vie for top honors in the following categories:
