NYTBF State Championship Bass Tournament Held on St Lawrence River

The NYTBF State Championship was held on October 1 and 2, 2016 on the St Lawrence River out of the Clayton Town Ramp. The event was hosted by the Village of Clayton and the Clayton Chamber of Commerce. The weigh-in took place on the grounds of the Antique Boat Museum. Anglers were greeted with beautiful conditions both days. Norma Zimmer was on hand to present the awards to the anglers.

Garry Woodruff from Candia, NH was crowned the boater champion with a 2 day weight of 33.15 pounds. Garry was able to repeat his win from the 2015 Championship, also on the St Lawrence River. Bobby Williams was second with 32.05 pounds including a 6.30 largemouth that was the largest of the tournament. And new smallmouth record holder, Patrick Hildenbrand was third with 29.10 pounds.

On the co-angler side, David Dumas lead the way with 31.45 pounds for both days. Dick Garlock was in second with 26.05 pounds. And Fred Chilluffo was third with 13.90 pounds. David and Dick shared big fish for the co-anglers with each weighing in a 4.50 smallmouth.

Anglers were also competing for a chance to participate in the National Semi-Final being held at Lake Champlain out of Ticonderoga in the middle of October with a chance to go to the TBF National Championship next spring.
