Ladies are invited to the Progressive® Insurance Tampa Boat Show™ for a day of fishing fun and networking on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018. Conducted by Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing, the “Learn to Fish” day features instruction on fishing strategy and techniques, as well as hands-on skill practice with guides. No equipment or experience is necessary to attend the “No Yelling School of Fishing.” Optional fishing is available on Monday Sept. 10 at additional charge.

The event will be held at the Tampa Convention Center and harbor on Sunday, Sept. 9 from noon to 6 p.m., preceded by a Freedom Boat Club Early Bird Pontoon Boat Cruise from 10 –11:30 a.m. Class, cruise and optional Monday fishing capacities are limited.

Speakers and instructors include Betty Bauman, Founder of Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing, Capt. Leiza Fitzgerald, Misty Wells, Capt. Jason Preito, Capt. Rachel Nobbe and others.

Registration fee is $60 per person and includes show admission, inshore/bay fishing instruction, hands-on practice for knot-tying & casting skills practice, lunch, Freedom Boat Club networking happy hour with food & drinks, swag bag plus a voucher for a Sunset Boat Cruise for up to 6 people, courtesy of Freedom Boat Club.

An optional Charter Fishing Trip will be offered on Monday, September 10, to practice new skills on the water, targeting redfish, trout, snapper and more. Charter boats hold 2–4 people with fishing licenses and gear provided. Participants should sign up at least one month in advance for the charter boats on https://ladiesletsgofishing.com/tampa once they have registered for the Sept. 9 event. They may also sign up on their own for drift fishing with Hubbard’s Marina, Madeira Beach, FL.

“We’re excited to help women feel more comfortable to enter the sport of fishing in the Tampa area,” commented Betty Bauman. “Women represent 45% of all new anglers. Once they gain knowledge of the equipment and strategy, their entry into the sport will make a positive impact on the industry, and give them something fun to share with friends and family.”

The Ladies Learn to Fish seminar at the Progressive Insurance Tampa Boat Show will be held at the Tampa Convention Center and harbor, 333 S. Franklin St., Tampa FL 33602 on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018. The final 2018 LLGF event is Oct.19-21 in Islamorada with a full day of inshore and offshore instruction by fishing legends, hands-on practice, networking and two days of optional fishing.
