14 Triton Pros Will Compete For 2014 Bassmaster Classic

Fourteen members of the Triton Boats Pro Staff will be among the pack of elite competitive anglers vying for the title of 2014 Bassmaster Classic champion. The annual bass tournament, hailed as the most prestigious event in the sport, will be held Feb. 21-23 at Lake Guntersville, Ala.

Triton Pro Staff members who qualified for the Classic through the B.A.S.S. Elite Series Angler of the Year point standings or B.A.S.S. Open trail include Casey Ashley, Gary Klein, Brent Chapman, Randy Howell, Stephen Browning, Terry Scroggins, Rick Morris, Jonathon VanDam, Hank Cherry, Fred Roumbanis, Gerald Swindle and Richard Howes. In addition, Triton pros Coby Carden and Jeff Lugar each qualified for the Classic through the B.A.S.S. Nation Championship tournament.

“We couldn?t be prouder of our Pro Staff Classic qualifiers,” said Triton founder Earl Bentz. “The competition on the B.A.S.S. Elite Series, B.A.S.S. Open and B.A.S.S. Nation tournament trails has gotten so fierce, it’s a mind-boggling accomplishment for our Pro-Staff members to qualify for this legendary tournament. To have 14 pros representing Triton at the Classic demonstrates just how competent and dedicated these fishermen are.”

Many of the 14 Triton Pro Staff Classic qualifiers will compete for the event’s $300,000 first prize from a Triton 21 TrX bass boat, a new tournament model already earning rave reviews for its state-of-the-art fishing features and extreme performance. “This new Triton is truly awesome!” said veteran pro Gary Klein, who will be competing in his thirtieth Classic. “Besides its incredible speed and handling capabilities, the front deck is so huge, you could practically land a helicopter on it — yet the TrX can easily sneak into those shallow, stumpy backwaters where big Guntersville bass hang out. I’ve fished from dozens of bass boats during my career as a pro angler, but none can compare
