2009 Bassmaster Classic Champion Skeet Reese Reveals 2010 Wrap

Skeet Reese, the 2009 Bassmaster Classic Champion has finalized agreements for his boat and truck wrap for the 2010 Bassmaster Elite Series season. Berkley Powerbait has signed on to be a co-title sponsor for the 2010 season, along with Lucky Craft.

The wrap features Berkley Powerbait logo displayed on the door panels of the passenger side of the vehicle with the familiar Lucky Craft on the shell, while the logos are reversed on the driver’s side of the now famous tow vehicle of the reigning Bassmaster Classic Champion. As the day to begin his defense of his Classic championship approaches, Reese prepares to pilot the “Lucky Craft / Powerbait Big Rig” towards a possible date with destiny as a defending champion of the sport’s biggest event.

In addition to the shared prominence on Reese’s tow vehicle, His Mercury powered vessel will also prominently display Berkley Powerbait and Lucky Craft, with the individual brands taking center stage on alternate sides of the boat; On the port side, Berkley Powerbait is at the bow, while Lucky Craft leads on the starboard side. The logos will share equal parts of his trademark yellow and black jersey.

“Lucky Craft has been my title sponsor for many years, and they have always been like family to me,” said Reese. “Berkley has also long been a partner, and I’m excited to be able to prominently display their brands as well. Berkley Powerbait and Lucky Craft are brands that I trust, and products that I use every day in competition; I’m proud to wear and promote these brands.”

“Skeet is great for our Berkley team,” said Chris Derrick, Berkley Brand Manager. “He competes at the highest level and his tireless work ethic shines throughout the fishing industry, he is a great promoter for Berkley brands, the sport of fishing and is heavily involved in the design of Berkley products.”

The marriage of the two companies seems a fitting blend, as it was a one-two approach featuring Lucky Craft Redemption spinnerbaits and Berkley Powerbait Crazy Legs Chigger Craw that Reese used to win the 2009 Bassmaster Classic on the Red River in Shreveport / Bossier City, La. He used a 3/8-ounce ?Classic Shad’ Lucky Craft Redemption spinnerbait around sparse grass, and the Powerbait Crazy Legs Chigger Craw was flipped to standing stumps and laydowns as the sun rose higher in the Louisiana sky.

“Those two baits were the tools I used to win the single biggest tournament of my life,” exclaimed Reese. “To see these brands come together in synergy and support of my defense of that title, as well as in my quest to win a second Bassmaster Angler of the Year crown in 2010 is a perfect way to start reaching for those goals.”

The Lucky Craft/Powerbait Big Rig will soon be heading to Birmingham and Alabama’s Lay Lake for the 2010 Bassmaster Classic, the 11th of his career. Look for it on the road to Elite Series events near you.

In other news, Reese also announced a newly updated personal website at www.skeetreeseinc.com. The site, which has become one of the more popular and highly trafficked professional angler websites, features a new splash page with a striking photo of Reese taken by renowned fashion photographer Enzo Minardi and newly upgraded graphic interface.
