A/Q PRO-AM CHAMPIONSHIP WINNERS

Anglers Quest 2004 Pro-Am Series Championship is now in the books, and the Pro-Am Series is complete for 2004. The event began with Thursday being the meeting, auctions, draw and awards presentation to the Top 10. Anglers of the Year, Pro Tony Hawk & Am Mark Rouse were presented with their A/Q Angler of the Year Trophies. Tony & Mark will receive free entry to all Pro Am events in 2005.

The Top 10 Pro & Am anglers of the year were awarded Top 10 Plaques with the statistics of all 7 2004 events engraved. The All Star Rods & Check it Stiks auctioned raised $1150.00 for the Pro & Am side Big Bass pots. The Calcutta Auction followed and sold Pros & Ams from $50 to $160 and raised $1355.00 to add to the anglers pots. This championship took place over a 3 day period on Lakes Conroe, Houston and Livingston.

The weather was great with a bit too much wind on day 1 at Lake Conroe, but cool mornings with the highs being in the mid 80’s for the entire event elsewhere. All three lakes were in there normal shape of clear to stained water, at approximately 10 below normal pool level on all.

Pro Greg Crawford from Huffman, Tx brought 4 Bass to the scales to be in 2nd place on day 1 with 10.76 lbs. Greg brought 3 more bass to the scales on day 2 at Houston and 5 more bass on day 3 on Livingston to finish in 1st place overall with 31.31 lbs, gathering 298 pts and collect his paychecks for a total of $1480.00. Greg reported catching all his bass in the Sandy & Kickapoo creek area flipping tx rigged brush hogs to shallow piers.

Pro Jerrid Theisen from Huntsville, Tx brought 4 Bass to the scales to lead the way on day 1 with 16.63 lbs. Jerrid had the Big Bass of the entire event on day 1 at Conroe, a fine 5.60 lber. Jerrid brought 2 more bass to the scales on day 2 at Houston and 5 more bass on day 3 on Livingston to finish in 2nd place overall with 31.13 lbs and 297 pts to collect his paychecks for a total of $1140.00. Jerrid reported catching all his bass in a north river creek area flipping blk/blu jigs to very shallow reeds and laydowns.

Pro Chuck McClurkin weighed in 7 bass over the 3 days and had a 4.03 Big bass on Houston and finished in 3rd place overall and collected $525.00.

The Am anglers going into the final day of competition had a 3 way 1st place tie going on. Evan Morozoff from Willis, Tx emerged the winner with a total of 7 bass that weighed in at 14.17 lbs and gathered 298 pts for the win and collected $1335.50.

Tim Patterson from Humble, Tx weighed in 7 bass over the 3 days at 14.96 lbs to gather 296 pts and collect 2nd place and $608.25. Tim reported catching his bass on Tx rigged brush hogs fishing with Pro partner Greg Crawford on the final day.

Dave Roberts from Huntsville, Tx had the 1st Big Bass overall on the Am side with a 3.63 lber and finished in 3rd place overall and collected $559.75.

Anglers Quest will be on Lake Livingston on October 2 for the Guaranteed $1000.00 to the winner Saturday Series.
