Alabama Angler Wins Ranger’s First Production Model of New Z Series During FLW Championship

JEFF McDANIEL of Calera, Ala., was all smiles during the recent FLW Championship held in Birmingham, Ala., And with good reason. His name was drawn from among thousands to receive the very first Ranger Z Series boat powered by a Yamaha VMAX outboard. Hull serial number is No. 1 of Ranger’s new line, which was unveiled during the championship.

When his name was drawn, he let out a loud cheer and headed for the boat. Handing over the key to the boat was Forrest L. Wood, who founded Ranger Boats. As excited as McDaniel was, things got better when the popular Yamaha cheerleaders, the Yamettes, climbed in the boat to congratulate him. His big smile says it all as he holds up his winning ticket and is flanked by the Yamettes.

Ranger had hidden two of the new Z Series boats in the rafters of the tournament weigh-in arena and lowered them dramatically as they introduced the new line of boats.
