Alan Moore & Clint Teutsch WIN

Anglers Quest 2010 Sam Rayburn Weekend Team Series #9 out of Mill Creek Park in Brookeland, TX began this event with 50 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $3370.00 purse. After the playing of the National Anthem this event was started at 6:30 am. The anglers had to be in line to weigh by 3:15 pm. This Rayburn Weekend Team Series after all 9 events will provide Rusty Clark & Cory Rambo for the 2nd year in a row the “Team Anglers of the Year” with free entries to all 2011 Rayburn Weekend Team Series events.

FLASH All A/Q lake series championships have been reinstated for 2010 and will be done on home series lakes. The Top 25 anglers entering a minimum of 5 Rayburn Weekend Team series events will automatically qualify for the 1-day Sam Rayburn Weekend Team Championship on October 9th. Any angler making the cut to any A/Q Championship will also qualify for the “Tournament of Champions” at Lake Palestine on November 11-12-13-14.

Sam Rayburn water was in good shape and about 6 ft below normal pool level with water temps ranning 82-84 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a very nice 74 degrees with a warming to 92 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was pretty good on Big Sam today as there were 14 limits brought to the scales, for a total of 90 bass at 262.78 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.91 lb.

The team of Alan Moore from Lufkin & Clint Teutsch from Diboll ran Alan’s Ranger/Rude bass rig to various mid lake scattered grass areas in 6′-8′ water to catch their 5 bass limit. They had a limit of fish in the boat in the first 30 minutes of the T and caught another 12 keepers during the day. They also had the big bass of the event a fine 7.21 lber. Alan & Clint had their limit at 22.80 lbs making them a $1445.00 payday for a 1st place finish.

The team of Chris McCall from Jasper & Pete Shivers from Kirbyville ran Chris’s Ranger/Rude bass rig to mid main lake areas with grass to catch their bass with their unnamed rods & Abu Garcia reels spooled with 65# Berkley Fireline Braid tipped with Santone 3/4 oz. grass jigs with Gambler Flap Daddy trailers in 6-8 ft of water. They had a limit of keepers in the boat by 9 am and culled several times by 3 pm to finish in 2nd place with a sack of 20.85 lbs and collected $800.00 for their day on the water.

The team of Larry Ford from Kirbyville & Mark Nelson from Silsbee ran Larry’s Ranger/Mercury to various mid lake grass lines in 6′-8′ water to catch their 5 bass limit on Falcon rods tipped with top water ribbits. Larry & Mark had 19.41 lbs that made them a $500.00 payday for a 3rd place finish.

The team of Jaret Latta & Chris Fontenot from Nacogdoches ran Jaret’s Ranger/Yamaha bass rig to mid main lake areas to catch their bass. They managed to cull up to their best 5 keepers to finish in 4th place with 18.68 lbs and collect$300.00 for their day on the water.

The team of Brian Branum from Brookeland & Bill Rogers from Jasper ran their Skeeter/Mercury bass rig to mid main lake on a milk ran to various places throughout the day to finish in 5th place with a total of 5 bass at 18.14 lbs fishing with Tour Tackle jigs around grass and brush piles. They took home $200.00 for their day on the water.

The first place out of the money team was 6th place, Mike Needham & Todd Gualandri were present at the awards ceremony so the Santone & ZZ Lures gift certificates were awarded to them for their catch of 16.40 lbs.
