Archie Smith & Jody Rhoden WIN

Anglers Quest 2006 Twin Lake Saturday Series #19 on Lake Livingston out of KickApoo Bait & Tackle in Onalaska, TX began this event with 34 teamed anglers showing up to fish this event. The event began at safe light, which was 6:55 am. Weigh in was conducted at 3:15 pm.

This Saturday Series after all 20 events will provide the Team Anglers of the year with free entries to all 2007 Saturday Series events. The Top 25 teams will go to the Saturday Series Championship in October on Lake Houston & Lake Livingston. A special Top 5 group of teams will go to the “Tournament of Champions” to be held in November on Lake Tyler with a guaranteed $10,000 being paid to the winner. All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to compete for.

Lake Livingston water was in good shape, and is at about 4.0 ft below normal pool level, with water temps running 86-88 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a very calm 67 degrees with a warming to 92 degrees by weigh in time. The fishing was pretty good on Livingston today as 7 limits were brought to the scales for a total of 60 bass at 133.50 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.22 lb.

Archie Smith & Jody Rhoden from Groveton, TX ran their bass rig to north lake creeks with 1-6 ft deep water with brush to catch their limit of 5 bass casting small cranks & Tx rigged worms to end up with a nice sack at 12.42 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect the $500.00. The father & son team of Terry & Bryan Bagley from Kingwood, Tx ran their Skeeter/Yamaha bass rig to south lake creek areas to finish in 2nd place flipping tx rigged worms & spinner baits to bring in their best 5 bass that tipped the scales at 12.41 lbs which made them $350.00 for their day on the water fishing. Joe New & Ronny Bates from Spring, Tx finished in 3rd place today fishing brushy banks & boat docks with tx rigged worms & Jig/craws in 1-6 ft water on the north end of the lake and collected $340.00 for their limit of 11.92 lbs. One of Joe & Ronny’s bass was the big bass of the event at 3.91 lbs.

A/Q will be back at Kickapoo Bait & Tackle on Lake Livingston on Saturday, October 21 for the 20th and last of 20 Saturday Series events for 2006.
