Arkansas’ Native Son Pro Bass Angler, Bow Hunter and Motivational Speaker

Industry experts warn in a special report released by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) that “unless more boys and girls – black, Latinos and white – are recruited, these time-honored wildlife sports could die out.” Clifton Blanchett Outdoors (Team CBO) is “Urban America’s Gateway to the Great Outdoors”. A professional sports marketing, training and media production company formed to take the outdoors to urban America where 80% of the U.S. Population now resides.

The primary target market is youth with emphasis on the family, retirees and disabled from underserved populations. The primary goal of its summer bass fishing and archery camp is to uplifturban youth in four essential areas of personal growth and development; spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical through the outdoors. Clifton Blanchett Outdoors (Team CBO) will introduce the outdoors through fishing and archery in a fun and educational way. The Boot Camp is a 7 day overnight camp with four one week sessions of fishing and one week of archery and bowhunting starting June 6th – July 17th, 2010 for youth ages 9 – 17 yrs. old. Camp CBO is located adjacent to Mike Freeze WattensawWildlife Management Area, Hazen Arkansas (I-40).

Camp CBO offers positive youth activities such as outdoor orientation, meteorology, map reading, land navigation, first aid, water safety, fishology and archery, as opposed to non-productive activities such as hanging out on the streets, porches, corner stores, or school yards. Clifton suggests our youth “Start standing on the banks of lakes and rivers and decks of bass boats where there has never been, to my knowledge, a drive-by shooting or gang related murder of ‘Homey’ the angler or hunter.” For Clifton, this is a personal crusade to save as many children as possible through safe outdoor sport activities such as; fishing, boating, archery, and hunting. Clifton says, “The outdoors is our children’s missing component”. Today’s youth have become obese, inactive, and desensitized to violent crimes and even murder as a result of electronic media. Fishing, hunting, firearm safety, and sportsmanshipoffer balance and respect for humanity and wildlife that will prove to reduce violent crime in America. Clifton is a firm believer that children who grow up respecting the outdoors will not be the ones filling the courtrooms, nor occupants of our Nation’s hospitals, prisons and cemeteries.

Clifton Blanchett says, “The outdoors has a way of transcending all racial and color barriers, and has to be introduced at an early age in order to become lifelong activities”. Camp attendees will leave Camp CBO as enthusiastic sportsmen and stewards of the outdoors with awareness about conservation and preservation of life.
