As an FLW Outdoors sponsor, the Army National Guard will communicate its involvement and support through a variety of media formats, including the “FLW Outdoors” TV program on FSN (Fox Sports Net), FLW Outdoors Magazine and FLWOutdoors.com. The Army National Guard will also be included in all FLW Outdoors promotional and public-relations materials.
In 2006, the Army National Guard will also field a team of professional anglers who will compete on the FLW Tour, the FLW Kingfish Tour and the FLW Redfish Series.
Irwin L. Jacobs, chairman of FLW Outdoors, said, “FLW Outdoors and the Army National Guard share so many of the same values and goals amongst our related constituencies that a sponsorship is a natural fit for this new partnership.”
Jacobs went on to say: “With the new tournament trails and new sponsors, the 2006 season is shaping up to be the biggest and most exciting year the sport of professional tournament fishing has ever seen. Never before have we had so many opportunities for both anglers and sponsors alike. The Army National Guard is a distinguished group of Americans who have dedicated their time to serving our nation. We’re extremely proud to have them as part our sponsor family.”
Col. Richard Guzzetta, chief of the strength and maintenance division with the Army National Guard said: “The Army National Guard is excited about teaming up with FLW Outdoors and Wal-Mart. The teamwork, excellence and commitment to family and community that FLW Outdoors represents is fundamental to the Guard. The soldiers, families and employers of the Army National Guard represent the best of America and that is a quality we see in FLW Outdoors as well.”
Wal-Mart and many of America’s most respected companies support FLW Outdoors and its tournament trails. Wal-Mart has been the title sponsor of FLW Outdoors since 1997.
