Baldwin Wins Walmart Bass Fishing League Hoosier Division Finale on Ohio River

Weisenburger wins co-angler title

Brad Baldwin of Waynesville, Ohio, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 8 pounds even Sunday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Hoosier Division Super Tournament on the Ohio River with a two-day total of 10 bass weighing 18 pounds, 1 ounce. For his victory, Baldwin earned $5,690.

According to tournament reports, Baldwin caught his winning weights by fishing shallow wood in creeks with a spinnerbait and buzzbait.

6th:          Ken Garbe, Loveland, Ohio, 10 bass, 13-13, $1,043

7th:          Sean Gillenwater, Bloomington, Ind., nine bass, 12-15, $948

8th:          Eric Moore, Hamilton, Ohio, 10 bass, 12-5, $853

9th:          Tilford Head, Hamilton, Ohio, seven bass, 12-4, $759

10th:        Kyle Weisenburger, Ottawa, Ohio, nine bass, 12-1, $664

McNaron caught the biggest bass of the tournament in the pro division, a fish weighing 4 pounds, 14 ounces and earned the day’s Big Bass award of $742.

Ron Weisenburger of Continental, Ohio, won the co-angler division and $2,845 with a two-day total of eight bass weighing 11 pounds, 5 ounces.

7th:          J.R. Selke, Waynesville, Ohio, four bass, 7-12, $474

8th:          Dan Whitley, Mooresville, Ind., five bass, 7-11, $427

9th:          Rodney Roe, Morehead, Ky., four bass, 6-11, $379

Von Hoene caught the biggest bass of the tournament in the co-angler division and earned the day’s Big Bass award of $371.

The top 50 boaters and 50 co-anglers based on point standings now qualify for the Oct. 15-17 Regional Championship on Kentucky Lake in Gilbertsville, Kentucky. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and $20,000, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.

The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, with 120 tournaments throughout the season, five in each division. The top 50 boaters and co-anglers from each division qualify for a regional tournament and compete to finish in the top six, which then qualifies them for one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the Walmart BFL All-American. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the Rayovac FLW Series or even the Walmart FLW Tour.
