The G3/Auto Zone boat giveaway concluded on November 13, 2003 in sunny Charleston, South Carolina. Vivian and Roy “Sam” Bass of Charleston were the lucky winners of the new HP 180 SE.
The event was held at the Auto Zone store located at 5365 Dorchester road in Charleston. Sam and Vivian Bass only live about one block away from the store and local Auto Zone employee’s reported that Sam drove by the store regularly to see if the boat had arrived yet.
Individuals on hand for the event were Ryan Chuckel (Stir Marketing), Stephen Matt (R.W. Eagles Productions/G3) along with Auto Zone associates, David Swartz (Store Manager), Shannon Hammond (District Manager) and Jarvis Allen (Regional Manager).
Stephen Matt said: “The shinning moment of the event was when Vivian Bass turned to her husband Sam and handed him the keys. Saying “Honey, it’s not every woman who can give her husband a $21,000 dollar boat”. They were as nice of a couple as you could ever want to meet and it was very enjoyable to see them win that boat.”
Auto Zone provided several additional items to the winners, including three new Duralast batteries.
