Bob & Charlene Way Win Palestine

If there is another word for very cold, the CAST ArkTex couples would be using it right now. With the temperature below the freezing mark our couples bundled up and headed out onto Lake Palestine for the first tournament of 2004 in the ArkTex region.

At the February 1st event the water temperature was still well into the 40’s. However it still took a limit of fish to win this event. Bob and Charlene Way brought 5 bass to the scales that weighed 14.51 lbs for 1st place. That’s almost a 3 pound average in very bad conditions.

In Second place with 10.32 pounds were Marty and Jill Sugg. Third place on this cold day went to Jerry and Sybil Kleam with 9.66 lbs. The big bass of the tournament was a real monster and was landed by Joel Howell. It weighed in at 7.31 lbs.

We would like to again welcome all of the new couples to our ArkTex region and hope those of you from other regions get a chance to come back and fish with us again.

We hope the rest of the year proves to be as much fun as this tournament, and maybe a bit warmer. We look forward to seeing everyone on March 7th at Wright Patman. We will be taking registration at Piney Point Ramp #1.
