Anglers Quest 2007 Twin Lake Saturday Series #2 on Lake Houston out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, TX began this event with 24 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $890.00 purse. The event began at safe light, which was 7:00 am. Weigh in was conducted at 3:15 pm. This Saturday Series after all 20 events will provide the Team Anglers of the year with free entries to all 2008 Saturday Series events. The Top 25 teams will go to the Saturday Series Championship in October on Lake Livingston & Lake Houston. A special Top 7 group of teams will qualify to go to the “Tournament of Champions” to be held in November on Lake Tyler. All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to fish for, for a very small entry fee of $100.00 per team.

Lake Houston water was a bit off color and about 1 ft above normal pool level due to the recent rains, with water temps running 57-58 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a calm 47 degrees with a warming to 54 degrees by weigh in time. The fishing was very poor on Houston today as there were no limits brought to the scales, a total of 9 bass at 21.55 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.39 lb.

The team of Bobby Behrend from Baytown & Judy Brandt from Liberty, Tx ran Bobby’s Champion/Mercury bass rig to north Luces Bayou creek areas for “Judy” to catch their bass dragging Tx rigged bubble gum 6″ Lizards down the middle of the creek in 6-8 ft of water from the rear deck of the boat using American Rodsmiths rod and Zebco reel spooled with 15 lb test line. “She” caught 3 bass @ 4.89 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect $550.00.

Jeff Jackowski from Tomball and Steve Cross from Spring, Tx ran Steve’s Astroglass/Mercury bass rig to the main lake area to finish in 2nd with their best 2 bass, caught using G-Loomis rods & Shimano reels on Tx rigged brush hogs that tipped the scales at 4.67 lbs. Their day on the lake payed back $220.00 for their efforts.

Tony Digilormo from Humble & Stephen Ubernosky from Kingwood, Tx finished in 3rd place and 1st Big Bass today fishing Luces Bayou out of Tony’s Express/Yamaha and bringing 1 bass to the scales that weighed 4.11 lbs caught on a spinner bait. They took home $75.00 for their day on the water. Danny StAndrie fishing alone today had the 2nd Big Bass @ 3.31 lbs to collect $45.00.
