Anglers Quest 2004 Twin Lake Saturday Series #6 on Lake Houston out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, TX began this event with 54 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the GUARANTEED cash purse of $1990.00. The event began at safe light, which was 6:20 am. Weigh in was conducted at 3:15 pm. This Series after all 20 events will provide the Team Anglers of the year with free entries to all 2005 Saturday Series events. The Top 25 teams will go to the Championship in November. All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to fish for, for a very small entry fee of $100.00 per team.

Lake Houston water was in really good shape at about normal pool level, with water temps running in the high 60’s in the main lake to low 70’s up north in the creeks and bayou’s. The weather at take-off was a calm 64 degrees with a warming to 82 degrees by weigh in time. The fishing was decent on Lake Houston today as 11 limits were brought to the scales for a total of 84 bass at 185.52 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.20 lb.

Captain John Condon from Kemah and Terry Bagley from Kingwood, Tx ran their Skeeter/Yamaha bass rig to West Fork creek areas to cull 15 keepers to their best limit of 5 bass flipping Texas rigged craw worms to 1-2 ft bedding fish and ended up tipping the scales at 14.97 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect the GUARANTEED $1000.00.

The team of Jeff Jackowski from & Steve Cross from Spring, Tx ran their Cobra/Mercury rig to the Luces Bayou creek area, flipping Texas rigged orange hoodaddy’s to laydowns & brush in 1-2 ft water and bringing 5 bass to the scales that weighed 14.53 lbs. Their efforts today were rewarded with a check for $420.00 and 2nd place.

Danny StAndrie from Huffman & Chris DiBerardino from Crosby, Tx ran their BassCat/Mercury bass rig to north lake creeks to catch their limit of bass in 1-2 ft of water casting very small spinner baits to shoreline cover. Their limit tipped the scales at 13.20 lbs to collect 3rd place and $300.00. Danny & Chris had the 1st Big Bass also, a fine 4.02 lber to get them an additional $190.00.

The team of Bobby Behrend from Baytown & Joshua Bush from Hardin, Tx finished in 4th place with 5 bass at 12.56 lbs, one of their bass was 2nd big bass of the day making them a check for $80.00.

Chuck McClurkin & Tom Holbrook from Humble, Tx finished in the 1st out of the money spot with 5 bass that tipped the scales at 11.06 lbs. Chuck & Tom graciously accepted the 6 Pak of TCW3 oil given to them from Royal Purple Oil.

The next Saturday series event will be on Lake Livingston on April 3, enter at Kickapoo Bait & Tackle anytime. A/Q will be at Anchorage Marina on Lake Conroe on Sunday, March 28 for the 3rd of 7 Pro-Am draw events.
