Lake Belton there was forty-six teams competing in the third annual Tuff Man Championship. A large crowd gathered in the Bell County Expo Center which was hosting the Belton Boat Show and the Tuff Man Championship weigh in.
The anglers started pulling into the Expo Indoor arena about 3:30 and about an hour later the team of Steve Smith and Charles Reagan were crowned the champions of the third annual Tuff Man championship. The crowd went wild when Steve and Charles pulled their very impressive 5 fish stringer from their live well. Their total stringer weight of 17.25 lbs was more than enough to capture the top honors and win them a paycheck of $6000 and a plaque. They caught their fish on a variety of baits such as spinner baits, crank baits, and carilona rig with plastics worms.
Second place went to the team of Keith Combs and Sisto Salinas. They had five fish that weighed in at 11.49 lbs this earned them a check for $4000.00 and a plaque. Third place went to the team of Joe Linderman and Keith Honeycutt they also had a five fish stringer. which weighed in at 10.70 lbs which earned them a check of $3000.00 and a plaque.
Fourth place went to the team of Jerry and Patricia Gold their five fish weighed in at 10.06 lbs. They received a check of $2000.00. And fifth place was the team of Charles Gerhart and David Shuster they also had a five fish limit, which weighed in at 9.72 lbs. This earned them a payday of $1000.00 Big Bass went to the team of Tommy Durham and Mike Jones.
Their 7.09 lb Big Bass won them a check for $500.00 and a plaque. We want to
