The Central Wisconsin River Series, Presented by MinnKota, Humminbird and The Stevens Point Brewery, came to the beautiful city of Rhinelander on July 25th!
The River Series tour held its third one day qualifier , this time on Boom Lake-The Rhinelander Flowage, where 45 teams competed for top honors, and for the 5 coveted spots in the Championship!
“It was a hot day- but the fishery was producing” Said Michael Hofmann, Tournament Director of the River Series. “The city of Rhinelander and the Rhinelander Flowage really has a lot to offer all who come and visit- it is such a great area!”
Besides the great cash and prizes that was awarded to the top teams at the weighin, 5 more teams have now qualified at the event to come to the 2 day Championship to be held on Lake Mohawksin September 26th and 27th!
Weighin saw the top team break the 20 pound limit for five fish anchored by a 6 pound Smallmouth! The biggest fish that has been caught to date this year in the Series! Top Honors went to Shaun Kruzitski and Matt Stefan with a 20.21 pound limit, 2nd was Drew Skutak and Nate Koss 17.54, 3rd was Tony and Todd Bartishofski, with 16.45 and the days biggest Largemouth at 5.01. 4th was Andy Dassow and Robin Pester with 15.79, and 5th was Tyler White and Paul Schaughnagel with 13.22.
45 teams-will now come to the next and last qualifier in this year’s Series to be held August 9th on Lake Mohawksin in Tomahawk.
Quite a few teams have a legitimate shot at becoming Team of the year. It will all come down to who can catch them at the last qualifier!
