Century and Cobia Boats have launched a national fishing team program with its Team Cobia and Team Century fishing teams. Both companies will increase their involvement and visibility in the shallow water fishing tournaments with four company-sponsored fishing teams. The teams are equipped with the new Century 2202 Bay and Cobia 222 Bay boats.
The Century and Cobia team boats are easy to spot with their wrapped graphics. The new bay boats feature a design that offers shallow water anglers the ability to access skinny waters in search of redfish, or tarpon, yet still capable of crossing big bays in search of better fishing areas.
Each team consists of four team members and all the teams debuted at this year Professional Tarpon Tournament Series (PTTS) held in Boca Grande, Fla., last May.
“We’re excited about our new shallow water fishing teams. The team captains and their crews were very competitive during the recent PTTS tournaments and the bay boats with their wrapped graphics really stood apart from the other teams,” says Dean Burnett, vice president and general manager of Century and Cobia Boats. “We plan to keep the teams very active in the coming year.”
Representing Team Century are Capt. Jeff Hagaman from Lutz, Fla., and Capt. Troy Sapp and from Odessa, Fla. Team Cobia includes Joe Mercurio, from Sarasota, Fla., and Capt. Jeff Totten from Englewood, Fla.
Century and Cobia boats are designed to meet any need or budget, from affordable family fishing boats to serious offshore fishing boats. Both brands include bay boats, center consoles and walk around fishing boats in lengths ranging from 17′ to 31′.
