The event began at safe light at 6:20 am with the playing of the National Anthem and weigh in conducted at 3:15 pm. With temps in the 80’s-90’s all day with a slight breeze this was a very HOT! day to be on the water with the other weekend boats. This Conroe Weekend Team Series after all 9 events will provide the Angler of the year with free entries to all 2011 Conroe Weekend Team Series events. The anglers entering a minimum of 5 Conroe Weekend Team series events will automatically qualify for the 1-day Lake Conroe Weekend Team Championship in October. Any angler making the cut to any A/Q Championship will also be eligible for the “Tournament of Champions” at Lake Palestine in November. Lake Conroe water was in good shape and about normal pool level with water temps running 90-92 degrees. They reported catching 15 keeper bass and culled to their best 5 at 26.36 lbs with a kicker of 6.71 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect $950.00 for their day on the water. They did own a Bass Guard Culling system that would have put an additional $25.00 in their pocket….BUT it was in their other boat.

The team of Garrett Pierce from Conroe & Skip Reagan Jr ran Garrett’s ProCraft/Mercury bass rig to main lake areas north & south of the 1097 bridge to catch 5 keeper bass throwing tx & c-rigged worms in 18-20 ft water with brush to bring in their creel at 20.88 lbs with a Big Bass of the event at 7.22 lbs.
