Anglers Quest Houston Individual Series #3
Anglers Quest 2010 Lake Houston Individual Series #3 out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, TX began this event with 6 anglers showing up to fish for the $810.00 purse. This 3rd Houston event of 2010 was started after the playing of the National Anthem at 6:50 am. The weigh in time was conducted at 3:15 pm. This Lake Houston Individual Series after all 9 events will provide the Angler of the year with free entries to all 2011 Houston Individual Series events. The anglers entering all 9 Lake Houston Individual series events will automatically qualify for the 2-day “Tournament of Champions” championship on November 13-14 on Lake Palestine. A special highest point Top 10 group of anglers will qualify to go to the “Tournament of Champions” with a minimum of 6 events entered. Anglers Quest “Tournament of Champions” will Guarantee $35,000.00 to 1st-2nd & 3rd places.
Lake Houston water was in decent shape and about normal pool level with water temps ranning 60-62 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a breezy 47 degrees with a warming to 69 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was pretty slow on Lake Mud today as there was only 1 limit brought to the scales, for a total of 15 bass at 40.22 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.68 lb.
The Bass Guard wrapped BassCat/Mercury of Chris DiBerardino from Huffman, Tx ran to the north lake area to catch his bass throwing chartreuse/white chatter baits with his American Rodsmiths Rods and Shimano reels in 1-5 ft of water. Chris managed to catch 10 keepers to finish in 1st place with his best 5 at 17.63 lbs, one of his keepers was the Big Bass of the event at 5.07 lbs. These best 5 bites made Chris $780.00 for his day on the water.
Tony Digilormo ran his BassCat/Yamaha bass rig to Luces Bayou and used his Carrot Stick rods with Quantum reels to flip Tx rigged plastics in 1-4 ft water all day. Tony finished in 2nd place with a total of 4 bass at 11.02 lbs. Tony took home the Santone Lures & ZZ Lures Gift Certificates for his day on the water.
