Clair and Raffe Hulce and the rest of the field battled heavy wind and frigid temps at the Wisconsin River Series presented by Minnkota, Humminbird and the Stevens Point Brewery opening Series qualifier on the Stevens Point Flowage!
Frigid morning temps (26) and a steady heavy wind greeted all the anglers in the morning but the day gradually turned into a sunny but still windy afternoon. These conditions are always tough, and the anglers coming out on top are the ones that were quick to adapt.
Clair and Raffe came in with a great bag of bass ( 17.70 lbs with 5 fish) and also had the largest Smallmouth Bass of the day weighing in at 4.46.
Big largemouth was caught by Steve Scofield and R.J. Waite at 4.66!
Rounding out the top five was (2nd) Chase Vaughn and Tyler Jesse (14.31), (3rd) Tyler White and Andrew Krueger(13.90), (4th) Roger and Brian Modrezejewski(13.80), and (5th) Steve Scofield and R.J. Waite (12.51).
The Stevens Point Convention and Visitors Bureau were the hosts of this qualifying event!
Our tour anglers along with the support from Crystal Finishing Systems Inc. donated over 400 pounds of food and a check to the Stevens Point Salvation Army.
The next Tour qualifier is on June 25th in Tomahawk, Wisconsin on Lake Nokomis. The host sponsor for that event is the Tomahawk Chamber of Commerce.
