Anglers Quest 2012 Sam Rayburn Individual Series #4 out of The Umphrey Pavilion in Sam Rayburn, Tx began this event with 19 anglers showing up to fish for the $1725.00 purse. This 4th event of 2012 was started as a trailoring event at 6:40 am. The weigh in time was conducted at 3:30 pm. Any Individual entering 6 of the 8 Individual series at Sam Rayburn will automatically qualify for the 2-day Rayburn Championship. The top Individual in points after all 8 events will be declared the Angler of the Year and will be awarded free entries to all 2013 Rayburn Individual Series events. The Individuals entering all 8 Rayburn Individual series events will automatically qualify for all 3 of the Lakes Individual Series 2-day Championships. Any Individual qualifying for any A/Q Championship will be allowed to enter the “Tournament of Champions” on October 20-21 at Lake Falcon.

Sam Rayburn water was in good shape and 2.0 feet below normal pool level with water temps ranning 64-67 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a windy 64 degrees with a warming to 80 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was decent on Big Sam today as there were 10 limits brought to the scales, for a total of 66 bass at 119.59 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 1.81 lb.

Clayton Boulware from Zavalla, Tx ran his Nitro/Mercury bass rig to north lake points over grass to catch his bass throwing Lucky Strike red eye shad & swim baits on his H&H rods & Revo reels spooled with 12lb flurocarbon line in 2-7 ft of water. Clayton managed to catch 8 keepers to finish in 1st place with 12.12 lbs and made him $900.00 for his day on the water. Clayton also wanted to thank his sponsors, Bass Pro Shops, Motorguide, Dusty Rhodes Marine and especially his wife Elizabeth and kids Holden & Kristin.

Scott Gill from DeRidder, La ran his Bass Rig to mid & north lake creek areas to finish his day in 2nd with 5 bass at 11.70 lbs, one of his bass was the Big Bass of the event at 5.71 lbs. Scott collected $505.00 for his day on the water. Ray Beck from Beaumont, Tx finished with 5 bass at 11.13 lbs and collected $225.00.
