With the 2003 year coming to a end we qualified thirty four couples for our Championship at Kentucky Lake Sept. 24 – 27, 2003. Twenty six couples make the trip with every boat saying that they caught fish. The first day of the tournament saw Melinda & Randy Vires in the lead with five fish that weighed 9.83 lbs.
The second day of the tournament saw some better stringers come to the scales and the 9th place couple on Friday, Connie & Parris (Peanut) Quon jumped into the lead. Connie & Peanut were able to catch a limit of fish at 12.99 lbs. for a two day total of 19.40 lbs. on Bandit Crankbaits in the marina. On Friday they broke their steering on the boat.
Melinda & Randy Vires were able to hold on to a second place tie with Marilyn & David Jobe. Both couples having a two day total of 17.90 lbs.
Fourth place went to Debbie & Mark Davis with 17.80 lbs. In fifth place was Linda & Tim Beale with 17.34 lbs. Sixth place went to the 2003 Anglers of the Year Allison & Tommy Pickett (father/daughter) couple with 16.80 lbs.
Taking Seventh place was Amanda & Greg Elliott at 14.46 lbs. Eighth place was Sandra & Charley Jones with 14.37 lbs. Ninth place was Jenna & Jerry Moore 8.47 lbs. Tenth Place was Helen & Lamar Todd with 8.26 lbs. Eleventh place was Pat & Ted Walker with 7.52 lbs.
Teresa & Bob Forbis caught the big bass of the tournament at 6.31 lbs. For all the results and payout please look at the results page.
