Tournament morning greeted our couples with calm waters and abeautiful sunrise, but tranqulity was soon replaced with gray cloudsand howling winds. 25 MPH winds blowing across a Texas flat landlake can improve fishing by pushing anglers to the back of sloughs, where the are forced to fish boat docks, secondary points and creekchannels.
This proved to be the case as C.A.S.T./North couples came to thescales with more than 10 chunky Black’s tipping the scales at over fourpounds each in a dead heat race for Big Bass honors. Couples thatdid not weight in over a 10 LB stringer were out of the money.
David & Tammy Waller Carolina Rigged sour-grape french fries in a creek channel to net a winning stringer of 14.40 LBS. anchored by4.65 LB. black beauty.
Don & Dixie Rodgers boated a 5.05 LB hawg for Big Bass of the tournament while fishing a Berkley Blue Fleck Power Lizard under aboat dock.
