Deep Cranking

My name’s Eric Holt, and I’m a team Yamaha member. My tip for today is, when you are deep cranking, especially throwing BD 22’s or the deep fat free shads. Throw them on a heavier pole than you normally would. I prefer to use a 7 foot, medium heavy, Falcon expert series rod. I like cranking it with my drag cinched all the way down. Then once you hook the fish, back the drag off and play the fish with your drag instead of your pole. That’ll give you a much better hook set and a lot better land ratio.By: Walker Agency
