Anglers Quest 2010 Houston Weekend Team Series #4 out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, TX began this event with 50 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $2480.00 purse. This event got started at 6:20 am after the playing of the National Anthem. The weigh in was conducted at 3:15 pm. This Houston Weekend Team Series after all 9 events will provide the Team Anglers of the year with free entries to all 2011 Houston Weekend Team Series events.
< Lake Houston water was in good shape and at about normal pool level with water temps ranning 75-78 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a very windy 64 degrees with a warming to 81 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was real good on Lake Mud today as there were 12 limits brought to the scales, for a total of 70 bass at 181.49 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.59 lb. The team of Don Bender from Humble, Tx & Scott Overland from Tomball, Tx ran Don’s Nitro/Mercury bass rig south and then north to the Luces Bayou area to catch their bass on weightless wacky worms and tx rigged worms & craws in 2-3 ft of water. They managed to catch 6 keepers today with this technique to finish in 1st place with the best 5 that tipped the scales at an awesome 15.96 lbs. Their efforts today made them $1075.00 for their day on the water. They did possess one of the Bass Guard culling systems that paid them an additional $25.00. The team of Greg Crawford from Huffman, Tx & Tim Patterson from Kingwood, Tx ran Greg’s Champion/Mercury bass rig to Luces Bayou creek areas to finish in 2nd with their best 5 bass, caught on a variety of lures that tipped the scales at 15.06 lbs. Greg reported catching 10 keepers throughout the day. Their day on the lake payed back $650.00 for their efforts. The Vincent Turf Farm & Executive Security Integrators sponsored team of Chad Vincent & Brian Burleson from Crosby, Tx ran Chad’s Triton bass rig south to the main lake to catch their bass throwing tx rigged worms & lizards in 2-6 ft of water. They managed to catch 15 bass to finish in 3rd place with the best 5 that tipped the scales at 14.83 lbs and received $400.00 for their day on the water. The team of Tony Hawk from Humble, Tx & Jeremy Murry from Porter, Tx ran Tony’s Ranger/Yamaha to the West Fork river area to flip tx rigged craw worms and jigs to shallow shoreline cover throughout the day to finish in 4th place with a total of 5 bass at 14.79 lbs. They reported having a limit in the boat by 10:30 am and catching 12 keepers during the day. One of their bass was the Big Bass of the event at a fine 5.63 lber. They also possessed one of the Bass Guard culling systems that paid them an additional $25.00 for the BB. They took home $265.00 for their day on the water. The 1st place out of the money Santone & ZZ Lures Gift Certificates were awarded to 12th place finishers Curtis Jordan & George Broussard with 5 bass at 11.36 lbs since none of the 5th-11th place finishers were present to receive their prize. The Lake Houston Tuesday Series started on March 30th and will continue for 23 weeks until August 31st at 6:00-9:15 pm at Lake Houston Marina. The Wednesday Conroe Series started on March 31st and will continue for 23 weeks until September 1st at 6:00-9:15 pm at El Dorado Jack’s on Lake Conroe. Both of these series will have their own home lake championships in October. Anglers Quest will be at Mill Creek Park on Sam Rayburn May 1st & 2nd for the 5th of 9 Rayburn Weekend Team Series and the 4th Individual Series events. May 4th & 5th will be the Tuesday Houston & Wednesday Conroe events. On May 8th Anglers Quest will be back at Mill Creek Park on Sam Rayburn for the 5th of 9 Individual Series events. Then on May 11th & 12th it is back to Tuesday & Wednesday series events.
