Dr. Shrink Recycles Plastic Wrap To Benefit Local Charities

To keep plastic shrink wrap out of landfills, Bay Area Recycling for Charities of Cedar, Michigan, in partnership with premium shrink wrap supplier Dr. Shrink of Manistee, Michigan, announce their 2010 Shrink Wrap Recycling Program. The program offers an environmentally friendly option to all local boat storage facilities, marinas and boat owners, asking them to help the environment by recycling shrink wrap.

It only takes a few simple steps to easily recycle shrink wrap from winter boat storage. First, plastic wrap should be clean and dry. Users then tightly roll the shrink wrap and place inside clear plastic bags. The shrink wrap to be recycled should be stored in a covered area until there’s a large enough volume to warrant a pick-up.

An email can be sent to Bay Area Recycling for Charities founder, Andy Gale at [email protected] schedule a pick-up. There will be a charge of only $2.50 per 40-gallon bag to collect, transport, bale and recycle plastic wrap. This is cheaper than having it taken to the landfill. Profits from this effort are then donated to local charities. Marinas and storage facilities are encouraged to accept plastic wrap from area boaters.
