Drop shotting … it’s catching

I’m Derek Yamamoto, Yamaha fishing pro from Arizona. One of the big differences between fishing out west and southeastern or eastern lakes is the depth factor. Deep for a lot of the lakes out east is 10-15 feet deep. That’s pretty shallow in the deep western reservoirs that we have. One of the techniques that grew up in the west, and is really catching on, is drop shotting. A lot of guys out east aren’t comfortable using it, but have adapted it to their style and situations for fishing out here. It’s a great way to fish, whatever bait you’re using, because for drop shotting, it really doesn’t matter. I love to drop shot four inch worms and four inch and five inch Kinami flashes. It’s always a good way to get a limit it always works, and it’s really easy to use.By: Walker Agency
