6:00 a.m. – “Poveromo’s World of Saltwater Fishing”

Nighttime angling for broadbill swordfish once supported a thriving South Florida sport fishery. Shortly after this rod-and-reel discovery, commercial longliners moved in and began depleting the stocks. However, the fishery has been experiencing a remarkable resurgence as of late. George Poveromo teams up with Captain Ray Rosher to pursue what has once again become South Florida’s most popular big-game fish.

6:25 a.m. – “Backroads with Ron and Raven”

It’s falconry, sometimes called the sport of kings, and Ron Schara found out all about it on a recent adventure.

6:30 a.m. – “Jimmy Houston Outdoors”

Jimmy is fishing on the Ohio River with Jack Gratsch, which leads to a lot of fun and even more action, as they catch huge hybrids and stripers.

Mike travels down to the Florida Keys to find a fantastic tarpon fishery – and the thrilling action is more than enough to compensate him for the trip.

7:55 a.m. – “Jose Wejebe’s Vida del Mar”

Jose finds a fresh sperm whale carcass and studies what this does to the life around it.

8:00 a.m. – “Dodge Outfitters Almanac”

A large number of Boone and Crockett’s record bucks have come from the Golden Triangle of Texas. This week, Wayne Pearson visits HnH Outfitters of Cotulla, Texas right in the middle of this nutrient rich big buck producing paradise.

Join Tom for an archery adventure featuring North American prairie bison on the Oglala Lakota, Pine Ridge Indian Reservation with guide Ralph Bear Killer in Western South Dakota.

9:30 a.m. – “Destination Outdoors”

In St. Petersburg, Fla., it is all about the fishing. We are offshore on the Gulf of Mexico for a little underwater hunting as we spearfish the azure waters, swim with a school of tarpon and amberjack and suit up for reef diving and an adventure with whale sharks.

9:55 a.m. – “A Century of Conservation”

The Upper Mississippi National Wildlife Refuge stretches over 100 miles along the famous river and is an important stopover for migrating waterfowl in the Central Flyway. We take a look at habitat restoration projects that will restore the river to its original state.

The American Brittany Rescue is arguably the most successful rescue dog program of its kind. Learn how families can adopt a Brittany from a 12-year-old rescue dog association and meet a husband and wife whose mission in life is to provide a foster home for canines in search of a home.

Experience the rush of rock climbing at Uprising Outdoor Adventure Center, America’s only outdoor/indoor rock climbing facility. It’s all “hands-on” on over 7,500 square feet of rock, and on 125 unique routes. America’s Desert Playground boasts 350 sunny days a year-but on this day in the Coachella Valley the conditions were more challenging. Through rugged canyon terrain we braved the elements for a road bike adventure not soon to be forgotten. Fishing on the Salton Sea finishes our visit to Palm Springs.

Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge on the Texas Gulf Coast is an incredible opportunity for visitors to waterfowl hunt and fish, as well as see alligators and many species of migrating birds.
