In a move demonstrating the broad performance capabilities of its new FICHTยฎ Ram Injectionโข technology, Evinrude proudly unveiled a new 75-hp outboard with FICHT Ram Injection. Evinrude, the first name in outboards, continues to be the technology leader offering the most comprehensive line of direct fuel injection (DFI) two-strokes of any outboard manufacturer.
This new 75-hp DFI two-stroke outboard provides a powerful, smooth operating power plant that retains all the advantages of two-stroke engines while providing superior fuel economy and lower emissions.
“We are confident that FICHT Ram Injection is the future of fuel efficient performance outboards,” said Rand McNally, Senior Vice-President of North American Engine Operations. “No other technology we know of can meet the performance requirements of our customer while complying with the environmental regulations of tomorrow.”
The new 75-hp Evinrude provides tremendous torque and acceleration all the way through its specified operating range and generates its gutsy top-end 75-hp at 5000 rpm.
The new 75-hp Evinrude outboard with FICHT Ram Injection currently meets the last phase of U.S. EPA 2006 emissions standards for outboards. This outboard also meets California Air Resources Board (CARB) 2004 emissions standards applicable through 2007 and Lake Tahoeโs stringent emissions restrictions for operation on that lake.
The new 75-hp Evinrude outboard with FICHT Ram Injection is expected to be available for delivery in North America in the Spring of 2000. International availability will be announced at a later date.
