Fishing Hot Spots, Inc., the nation’s largest fishing map publisher is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2000. To commemorate the milestone, the company introduces the first eight states in its new Digital Map Service in January.

These fishing maps on CD-ROM boast the premier waters for Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. The program features an auto-GPS engine allowing the user to pinpoint locations instantly. A newly enhanced distance function provides an accurate measurement in miles between any two, or up to ten points on the map. Other features include; detailed contours, structure, species information, fishing tips and techniques, access points and much more.

The company will also offer premiums at the BassMaster Classic sport show in Chicago in July, giving away anniversary edition Mepps® lures with every map purchase.

A yearlong promotion with Johnson Worldwide will be available at stores nationwide in January. Consumers purchasing the Airguide Generation series compass or the new Johnson Maxxum spincast reel, qualify for a free Fishing Hot Spots map! Details are included in the packages.

Beginning on a kitchen table 25-years ago, Fishing Hot Spots has grown to become the map anglers ask for by name, with over 500 titles in more than 30 states. Nestled among the 210 lakes and rivers within a 10-mile radius of their offices in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, a full-time staff of 15 is now busy working on the new and updated maps for 2000. There are also more of the famous Fishing Hot Spots where-to-fish books in the planning stage.

Fishing Hot Spots is the official map of the Central Pro-Am Association tournaments, in addition to many regional and local fishing events, newspapers, magazine and television programs. The maps are found at thousands of retail stores across the country, in select sporting goods catalogs and at dozens of sites on the Internet.
