Tune in Sunday, April 9, to “FLW Outdoors” on FSN for the conclusion of the $900,000 Wal-Mart FLW Tour event from Pickwick Lake. Watch as co-hosts Charlie Evans and Keith Lebowitz take viewers through the final weigh-in and award the winning pro angler $100,000. The one-hour show is the second of a two-part series covering the third event of the $7.6 million FLW Tour season.
The April 9 show presents several mini-features with the 10 pros that made the cutoff after two days of competition. The features include pros Jim Moynagh, Dan Morehead and George Jeane Jr.
After nearly a three-year hiatus since he last made an FLW Tour cutoff, Moynagh, a team Tyson pro, is back in the top 10 after catching nine bass over two days that weighed 24 pounds, 6 ounces. The Carver, Minn., native chose to target deep brush piles in Pickwick Lake and threw a 3/8-ounce Jim Moynagh’s Rock Jig.
Morehead, who won the Land O’Lakes Angler of the Year award in 2003, is a perennial Pickwick Lake standout. A native of Paducah, Ky., Morehead caught four hefty bass each day of the opening round and finished in seventh place. With visits to Beaver Lake and Kentucky Lake still on the schedule, Morehead figures to be a favorite in the year-end points race.
Coming off a 15th-place finish at Lake Murray in the last FLW Tour event, Jeane Jr. used a 1/2-ounce black and blue PJ’s football jig to catch an opening round total of 20 pounds, 1 ounce. An FLW Tour rookie from Evans, La., watch as Jeane Jr. competes against a field of FLW Tour veterans and past champions on the final two days.
In addition, Land O’Lakes pro Jeremiah Kindy of Benton, Ark., participates in this edition of Fishing 101. Kindy, who took fifth place at the Chevy Open on Lake Murray, explains how to fish a crankbait along a rocky bank, a successful tactic on Pickwick Lake.
