Records set at Wal-Mart FLW Walleye Tour event on Mississippi River, program airs Sunday, June 11
Tune in to “FLW Outdoors” Sunday and watch records being broken and history being made as the second stop of the Wal-Mart FLW Walleye Tour season unfolds in southeastern Minnesota. Mississippi River weight records will be shattered, women will reach a new height on tour and loads of prize money will be awarded. In addition to coverage of the tournament, viewers will be treated to several feature segments during the June 11 program, beginning at 11 a.m. Eastern time on FSN (Fox Sports Net).
On top of the $100,000 top award for the pro winner of 2006’s tour stop No. 2 presented by Yamaha, the winning co-angler received $15,000 for outfishing the field. In addition to compelling walleye-fishing competition, viewers will learn valuable fishing techniques and gain insight into the lives of the anglers on tour.
After a weekend of rainy weather, the Mighty Miss was back on the rise as the tournament kicked off May 3. And just as he had at the 2005 FLW Walleye Tour Championship, held on the Mississippi River in Iowa, pro Jeff Ryan of Lake View, Iowa, jumps out to an early lead. Tune in to find out if Ryan is able to keep up the pace throughout the four-day tourney.
With the shared-weight format of the Walleye Tour, Ryan’s day-one co-angler partner, Kristine Szczech of St. Paul, Minn., is able to establish a commanding lead at the onset of the event. A win would make a milestone for women anglers along the FLW Walleye Tour.
