The Powell Rods pro staff features some incredible anglers, and in their 100th year, Powell Rods announces the addition of another high caliber weapon to their staff of tournament professionals. The new addition is FLW Tour pro Tim Klinger, from Boulder City, Nev.
Klinger, a veteran of 95 FLW events since 1995, has racked up a career record that includes 19 top 10 finishes, two wins, one at the 2004 FLW Tour stop at Beaver Lake in Arkansas and one on California’s Clear Lake in 2007 at the FLW Series National Guard Western Division finale; his total FLW career earnings total $559,866.
Along with his FLW resume, Klinger regularly competes in high level regional events, and his reputation for being a threat to win precedes him.
“I am excited to become a part of the Powell Rods fishing team,” said Klinger. “Having gotten to know Keith (Bryan, President of Powell) a little bit, I like his passion for the sport, for his company, and for producing great products. Powell has become one of the best rods, and one of the true up and coming companies, and it means a lot to be on their staff.”
Klinger reported that Powell Rods had already made a difference in his fishing. “I fished a regional team tournament almost immediately after getting my shipment of rods,” said Klinger. “The sensitivity of the Powell Maxumfiber material, and the actions of the rods helped me cash a check in my first event; I’m looking forward to them helping my fishing even more going forward.
Bryan echoed Klinger’s excitement at the new addition. “Tim’s a very talented angler, and he fits in well with the other anglers we have on staff,” Bryan said. “We have made a lot of strides in the past several years, and hopefully have more to come; Tim wanting to be a part of the team is testament to the reputation Powell has earned, and he will be a part of helping take us forward into the future.”
