FSN to Air Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series Event From Rockport

Tune in Sunday, April 23 to “FLW Outdoors” on FSN for the $200,000 Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series event presented by Land O’ Lakes in Rockport, Texas. The first Western Division event of the $1.9 million FLW Redfish Series season concludes with the winning team claiming a cash prize of $50,000.

The “FLW Outdoors” saltwater series is a reality-format show told from the anglers’ perspective. Each week the top-five finalists are followed from takeoff to weigh-in, allowing the audience to feel the anglers’ nerves, listen to their strategy and learn from their mistakes. The stories evolve and the suspense grows throughout the one-hour show until the final weigh-in results are announced.

The April 23 show follows Steve Snopek of New Braunsfeld, Texas, and Glen Watts of Corpus Christi, Texas, who qualified for the finals in third place with a two-day total weight of 28 pounds even. Power fishermen by trade, the two are throwing plastics and jerkbaits near Port Aransas.

Newcomers to the FLW Redfish Series, the father-son team of Darrell and Robert Walter landed two redfish that weighed 14 pounds, 14 ounces on day one using Berkley Gulp shrimp. Battling the dropping tides and increasing winds, these Rockport natives followed up that performance with a two-fish limit on day two that weighed 16 pounds even, putting them in second place heading into the final day.

FSN also follows Rockport natives Tommy Ramzinsky and Todd Adams as they head north each morning to fish their honey hole located in the San Antonio Bay area. Ramzinsky and Adams are no strangers to tournament redfishing, having won the 2005 Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series Championship Oct. 29 in Orange Beach, Ala.

Fishing an area of mud- and shell-bottom flats, the Ranger pros caught an opening road total of 34 pounds, 6 ounces using a dark-colored D.O.A. Shad Tail on a bullet-head jig. After two impressive days on the water, Ramzinsky and Adams are in position to be the first FLW Redfish Series team to win back-to-back events.

FSN broadcasts “FLW Outdoors” Sundays from 11 a.m. to noon ET. Check local listings for show times and channels in your area. FLWOutdoors.com also provides an online show guide listing what events are coming up on “FLW Outdoors.”
