FSN To Tape ‘Best Damn Sports Show Period’ Saturday At Forrest Wood Cup

Look for the Hook Sweepstakes grand prize winner to be announced at taping

John Salley, Charissa Thompson and Rob Dibble will join the world’s top professional bass anglers at the 2007 Forrest Wood Cup on Lake Ouachita in Hot Springs, Ark. The crew will be in town to tape FSN’s hit “Best Damn Sports Show Period.” The popular sports and entertainment show is taping Saturday, Aug. 4 at 1 p.m. on the Chevy stage at the Hot Springs Convention Center.

Taping for the nationwide cable show, which airs weeknights at 10:30 p.m., will precede the tournament’s day-three weigh-in and crowing of the co-angler champion, which starts at 5 p.m. Spectators could possibly make an appearance on the show as well, so you won’t want to miss this opportunity. Admission to the Forrest Wood Cup and “Best Damn Sports Show Period” taping is free.

In addition, the grand prize winner of the 2007 Look for the Hook Sweepstakes will be announced during the taping when five lucky contestants draw keys to see who will drive away with the grand prize – a brand new Chevy Silverado and Ranger Z20 Comanche boat-and-tow-package outfitted with Berkley fishing gear and a $1,200 BP gasoline gift card, a prize package worth approximately $84,585.

The Forrest Wood Cup is the pinnacle of professional bass fishing, pitting top anglers from the Wal-Mart FLW Tour, Wal-Mart FLW Series, Stren Series Championship, BFL All-American and TBF Championship in competition on Lake Ouachita for a shot at winning the sport’s first $1 million top award. Cup contenders will take off from Brady Mountain Resort, located at 4120 Brady Mountain Rd. in Royal, Ark., at 7 a.m. each day, and daily weigh-ins will be held at 5 p.m. in Summit Arena, located adjacent to the Hot Springs Convention Center at 134 Convention Blvd. in Hot Springs.

Coverage of the Forrest Wood Cup will be broadcast to 81 million FSN (Fox Sports Net) subscribers in the United States Sept. 23 and Sept. 30 as part of the “FLW Outdoors” television program. “FLW Outdoors” airs Sunday mornings at 11 Eastern time. “FLW Outdoors” is also broadcast in Canada on WFN (World Fishing Network) and to more than 429 million households in the United Kingdom, Europe, Russia, Australia, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East through Matchroom Sport, making it the most widely distributed fishing program in the world.
