This week on “FLW Outdoors” television, co-hosts Carlton Wing and Taylor Carr talk to some of the biggest names in professional fishing that made it to the final round of the Wal-Mart FLW Tour event on Kentucky Lake. The crew talks with Kevin VanDam of Kalamazoo, Mich., who held the lead after day two, earning his first top-10 FLW Tour finish of the season. Wing and Carr interview second-place winner Davy Hite of Prosperity, S.C., and also chat with Gary Yamamoto of Mineola, Texas, who finished ninth.
VanDam, a former Land O’Lakes Angler of the Year who has been conspicuously absent from the top 10 this season, made a comeback during days one and two and finished with enough points for 48th place overall along the tour – a position just high enough to qualify him for the Jacobs Cup if it can be maintained. Hite, a past FLW Tour champion, took home $35,000 after finishing behind rookie Steve Kennedy of Auburn, Ala., who won the tournament. Yamamoto, who had his highest finish to date on Kentucky Lake, talks about competing with the best in the world.
This week’s show also features Land O’Lakes Angler of the Year points leader Dan Morehead of Paducah, Ky., a local favorite who bowed out after the qualifying round but delivered a heartfelt thanks to his many fans.
