Anglers Quest 2010 Conroe Weekend Team Series #6 out of El Dorado Jack’s in Montgomery, TX began this event with 22 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $1535.00 purse.
The event began at safe light at 5:55 am with weigh in conducted at 3:15 pm. With temps in the 70’s-90’s all day with a slight breeze this was a great day to be on the water with the other weekend boats. This Conroe Weekend Team Series after all 9 events will provide the Angler of the year with free entries to all 2011 Conroe Weekend Team Series events. The anglers entering a minimum of 5 Conroe Weekend Team series events will automatically qualify for the 1-day Lake Conroe Weekend Team Championship in October. Any angler making the cut to any A/Q Championship will also be eligible for the “Tournament of Champions” at Lake Palestine in November.
Lake Conroe water was in good shape and about normal pool level with water temps ranning 78-82 degrees. The fish catching was good for the anglers today on Conroe as there were 5 limits of bass brought to the scales today. There was a total of 37 bass at 114.87 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 3.10 lb.
The newly formed team of Garrett Pierce & Juan Monroy from Conroe, Tx ran Garrett’s ProCraft/Mercury bass rig to numerous areas north & south of the 1097 bridge. They used their rods & reels to throw worms & cranks to catch their bass in 4-8 ft water. They reported catching 9 keeper bass and culled to their best 5 at 18.84 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect $825.00 for their day on the water. They did own a Bass Guard Culling system that put an additional $25.00 in their pocket.
The team of Julian Clepper II & Julian Clepper III from Magnolia, Tx ran their Champion/Mercury bass rig to north lake areas to catch 7 keeper bass flipping tx rigged worms and throwing small cranks in 8-12 ft water with brush to bring in their best 5 at 17.77 lbs with a kicker & BB of the event at 7.75 lbs. The Clepper’s day payed them $500.00 for their day on the water. They also owned a Bass Guard Culling system and collected another $25.00 for the Big Bass.
The new team of Joe New & Tommy Dunn were the 1st place out of the money today and finished with 5 bass at 15.37 lbs. They took home the Santone & ZZ Lures gift certificates for their day on the water.

The Tuesday Series continues on Tuesday June 22nd on Lake Houston from 6:00-9:15 pm. Anglers Quest will be back at El Dorado Jack’s on Lake Conroe on Wednesday June 23rd for the 13th of 23 Lake Conroe Wednesday night Series events, these events will go from 6:00-9:15 pm with a $85 entry fee per team. On June 26th & 27th Anglers Quest will be on Lake Houston for the 6th of 9 Houston Saturday & Individual Series events. On July 3rd & 4th A/Q will be at Sam Rayburn. Then on July 10th & 11th we will be back on Lake Livingston. Remember to get your teams entry in early to get a low take off #, as they are issued when you enter.
