Gillfillan Wins Bass Fishing League Buckeye Division On Ohio River

WHAT: Jay Gillfillan of Ridgeway, Ohio, caught four bass weighing 5 pounds, 11 ounces Saturday, July 24, 2010 to win $5,505 in the FLW BFL Buckeye Division tournament on the Ohio River. On a hot and sunny day Gillfillan was using beavers and brush hogs at the mouth of the creek to catch his winning sack.

WHAT: Gary Hoffman of Stoutsville, Ohio, caught two bass weighing 4 pounds, 4 ounces Saturday, July 24, 2010 to win $1,753 in the FLW BFL Buckeye Co-angler Division on the Ohio River. He was using frogs and senkos at the Crooked Creek to catch his bass.

NOTES: The next BFL Buckeye Division tournament is scheduled for Aug. 21, at the Ohio River in Carrollton, Ky. After the fifth Buckeye Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Regional Championship at Kentucky Lake in Gilbertsville, Ky., on Oct. 21-23, for a chance to win a 198VX Ranger boat with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
