It was the 31.3125″ walleye that netted him first place on the leaderboard, and one spot in the grand prize drawing for a new Crestliner Boat-but that was all it took.
On August 17, Dave Sellwood of Saskatchewan, Canada got a call from Crestliner Boats president Ben Cast congratulating him on a great catch and letting him know he had a tough decision to make-the 16 Kodiak or 16 Storm. An exuberant Sellwood was reported to say “Outstanding!” repeatedly throughout the conversation.
WINNER’S NAME DRAWN FROM A LIVEWELL
Sellwood’s name was selected from a pool of 20 names, comprise of the top 5 anglers on each leaderboard for walleye, pike, bass and crappie as of the end of the 105-day competition. The random drawing was performed by pulling one bobber from 20 that were placed in the filled livewell of a Crestliner Sportfish. Each bobber had a number that corresponded with one of the 20 finalists.
