AQ Rayburn Team #8
The final regular season team event was held on Saturday August 4, 2018 and the winners were Jeff Wise & John Maddox (both from Lufkin, Texas) . Now I asked Jeff how they caught their 21.08 lb stringer and he told me “ in 25ft on cigarette butts”. So apparently he isn’t telling. Jeff & John won $1,250.00 fishing against just 16 other teams. Congratulations guys !!!
Second place was held by the team of Danny Cross & Derrick Shoffitt, the brought 5 fish to the scaled>s that weighed 19.07 pounds and they won $750.00 for their day on the water. Way to go gentlemen !!!
Third place was held by the team of Chris Bush from Hardin & Glen Blanchard from Zavalla, they weighed their 5 for 16.12 lbs. They also tied for Big Bass with a 5.84 lb fish and won a total of $600.00 for their efforts on the water. Chris reported “ Caught our fish north / midlake 5-9’ deep using Texas rig Lizards and Whopper Ploppers”. They fished out of a Bass Cat powered by Mercury, Power Pole, Hummingbird electronics and a Motor guide Trolling motor, They were representing OUTLAW OUTDOORS Team “00” Good job guys !!!!!
The father & son team of Doug McCain & Mason McCain also brought in a 5.84 lb bass. And split the Big Bass money. They took home $100.00 for that one bite. You Guys ROCK !!!
And I would like to WELCOME Mr. McCoy Robinson to the World of Bass Tournament Fishing ! This Young man fished his first ever Bass Tournament today and I just want him to know he did a GREAT job !!! And thank you to Mr. Jeff Grubbs for being his Partner.
I’m looking forward to the Championship to be held September 8th & 9th. And if all 14 qualifiers show up, they will be fishing for approximately $6,000.00….
