HW Marine, a locally owned boat dealership, recently returned from the National Triton Dealers meeting in Nashville, Tennessee where they were recognized for selling more Triton Boats than anyone in the WORLD!
Native East Texan, Mark Hughes owner of HW Marine is extremely proud of such an accomplishmentt during what some consider a downturn economy. “I contribute our success to the positive attitude maintained by our employees at all 3 of our stores”, said Mark Hughes. “East Texans love the water and all our employees take a lot of pride in assuring our customers get the most of of whatever water sport they enjoy.”
The Hughes Family opened their first boat dealership in 1997 on Highway 59 in Marshall, Texas. Then Marshall store continues to thrive and moved to a large new showroom on East End Blvd. just one mile north of I-20 in June of 2007. In 2001, HW Marine opened their second location south of Tyler on Hwy 155 in Flint. Their third store in North Little Rock, Arkansas opened in 2005.
Triton Boats by Earl Benz has become famous among Bass Fishermen for their top of the line fiberglass Bass Boats. They also manufacturer a full line of aluminum boats and pontoon boats. HW Marine stocks a large inventory of Triton’s at all three locations. They also carry Glastron & Larson Ski Boats, NauticStar Bay Boats, Bentley & Southbay Pontoons, Yamaha Personal Water Craft, and a full line of Duck Hunting Boats. They are also an authorized dealer for Mercury Outboards and MerCruiser Stren Drives.
When asked about the future, Chris Knight, General Manager said, “I have always been avid about all water sports, including Fishing, Duck Hunting and Wakeboarding, so my approach is to hire good sales people who are also avid about their particular water sports. That way we can give our customers expert advice while getting them into the right boat for their needs. Our customers seem to like this approach since we have become a popular place for many of them to come in just to visit. With our solid, yet aggressive business plan, our unsurpassed sale force and such customer loyalty, I foresee nothing but continued growth for HW Marine”.
“We have used our web site as a tool for our customers to view our entire inventory from all three stores from the comfort of their home”, said Chris Knight. We make our inventory at all three stores available to our customers, even if we have to drive all night to get a boat from another store. This assures our customers a larger inventory to choose from than even most big city dealers stock.”
HW Marine sold over 400 boats in 2007 and expects to far exceed that number this year.
The Hughes Family also owns a Honda & Yamaha Motorcycle and ATV Dealership, H&W Honda in Marshall and a Honda ATV Dealership in Palestine.
