Anglers Quest 2007 Super Team Series #4 blasted off at 6:15 am on Lake Sam Rayburn with 64 teamed anglers showing up to go for the all cash purse of $5055.00. This Series will provide the “Team Anglers of the Year” with free entries to all 2008 Super Team Series events, which has been announced that they will be done on Sam Rayburn again in 2008. The Super Team Series Championship will be a 2 day event held on Sam Rayburn for the Top 25 in points or any team entering all 5 events on June 30-July 1, 2007, this will be a no entry fee championship with $5000 guaranteed going to the winning team. Top 7 from this Series will advance to the “Tournament of Champions” which will again, as last year be held on Lake Tyler on November 10-11, 2007 and will have a maximum of 30 teams from all A/Q series go to a very exciting $10,000.00 to the winning team Championship. All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to compete for.

The air temp at takeoff was 64 degrees with a warming to 84 degrees at weigh in time. The water was at approximately pool level with water temps running 68-70 degrees in the main lake. The fishing was very good on Big Sam today as 20 limits were brought to the scales for a total of 122 bass at 297.47 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.43 lb.

The team of Jeff Jackowski from Tomball & Kevin Ekdall from Spring, Tx ran Jeff’s Ranger/Mercury bass rig to north lake areas to catch their bass flipping Tx rigged worms & lizards to bushes in 1-3 ft of water. They caught 15 keeper bass and brought their best 5 to the scales at 17.33 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect the A/Q “Goal Post” and $2000.00 for their day on the water.

Shawn Hodges from Friendswood, Tx and Michael Needham from LaPorte, Tx fished together today and gathered up their 5 bass and ended up with 15.90 lbs to finish in 2nd place and collected $1050.00.

Bill Rogers from Jasper, Tx ran his bass rig to numerous areas on the lake to catch his best 5 bass at 15.20 lbs to bring to the scales and capture 3rd place and $750.00. One of Bill’s bass was the Big Bass of the event that tipped the scales at 8.12 lbs, for that one bite he received another $190.00 giving him a $940.00 payday.

Pete Elliot from Vidor and Danny Cherry from Kountze, Tx brought 5 bass to the scales to weigh 14.32 lbs to garner 4th place and $425.00. Alan Moore And Jared Dean from Lufkin, Tx fished the south end of Sam Rayburn today around grass ledges to catch their 5 bass at 13.52 lbs and end up in 5th place to collect $300.00 for their day on the water.

The last money spot today was claimed by Todd Castledine and Jaret Latta with their 5 bass at 12.79 lbs to collect $210.00. Charlie Cooper & Chris Williford brought in the 2nd big bass of the event at 7.11 lbs to collect $130.00.

Anglers Quest’s next event will be the Tuesday Series on Lake Houston at Lake Houston Marina on May 1, it is a $70.00 team entry & take off will be at 6pm, weigh in will be at 9:15 pm. On May 2nd A/Q will be on Lake Conroe for the Wednesday Series with $60.00 team entry hosted from Inland Discount Marine.

This series will also takeoff at 6pm and weigh in at 9:15 pm. Anglers Quest will be at Kickapoo Bait & Tackle on Lake Livingston on Saturday, May 5 for the 9th of 20 Saturday series events.
