Anglers Quest 2006 Super Team Series #5 blasted off at 6:00 am on Lake Livingston with 44 teamed anglers showing up to go for the all cash purse of $2630.00. This Series will provide “Team Anglers of the Year” with free entries to all 2007 Super Team Series events. The Super Team Series Championship and “Tournament of Champions” will be held on Lake Tyler and will take the Top 10 Teams and every team that entered all 7 Super Team events to a very exciting $10,000 to the winner Championship. All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to compete for.
The air temp at take-off was 74 degrees with a warming to 98 degrees at weigh in time. The water was at 3 ft below normal pool level with water temps running in the mid 70’s in the main lake. The wind was a factor today with a south breeze blowing at 15-25 mph. The fishing was very good on Livingston today as 14 limits were brought to the scales for a total of 79 bass at 182.44 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.30 lb.
Jeff Stanley & Jimmy Emmons Jr from Humble, Tx ran Jeff’s Champion/Mercury bass rig to South lake creek areas to cull to their limit of 5 bass casting Tx rigged worms & Spinner baits to very shallow grass and brush and ended up with 16.31 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect the A/Q Trophies and $1200.00 plus an additional $130.00 for having the 1st big bass of the day, a fine 5.03 lber.
Larry Jenkins & Dale Hill from Livingston, Tx came to Lake Livingston and powered their bass rig to Kickapoo creek areas with brush to catch and cull to their best 5 bass of 15.11 lbs. 2 of their bass came on blk/blu jigs and 3 on crank baits in 4-5 ft of water. Larry & Dale had the 2nd Big Bass of the event in their sack, a fine 4.41 lber that gathered up the A/Q 2nd place and $690.00 for their day on the water.
The team of Sammy Smith from Channelview & Charlie Cooper from Onalaska, Tx ran Sammy’s Triton/Mercury to Whie Rock creek areas and finished in 3rd with 5 bass caught on crank baits and TX rigged worms that topped the scales at 13.12 lbs. They collected 3rd place and $400.00 for their day on the water.
Todd Castledine & Eddie Ellisor from Coldspring, Tx finished in 4th place with a limit that topped the scales at 12.85 lbs and collected $210. for their day on the water. They reported catching their bass on tx rigged worms and spinner baits.
