Houston Ind Championship
It was a beautiful weekend to be on the water. The fish were biting for most and the weather was as close to perfect as it could be. Sunny skies and temps in the high 80’s. Take off both Saturday and Sunday was 6:50am. We played the National Anthem just before take off both days and no surprise that EVERY fishermen was standing with their hands over their hearts, proud to be Americans.
There were nine fishermen who opted to fish for the $3,000.00. And on day one it was John Littleton that came in with 5 bass weighing 13.18lbs. And on day two he brought in 12.19 lbs for the win. John reports ” Caught my fish on boat docks from the Bayou to the South end of the lake. Only 4 or 5 docks were producing fish, just had to hit them several times throughout the day. Caught my fish on Stanley Viber Shaft spinner baits and shallow running Crank baits. Also Caught fish on Zoom Trick worm. I would like to thank Kistler for the rods I use and Stanley for the baits that I use, I couldn’t have won with out them.” John won a total of $1,910.00 for his weekend on the water.
Steve Ubernosky came in a close second. (He unfortunately had one dead fish that cost him first place). Steve brought five in the first day that weighed 10.65 lbs. But day two was a better day for Steve, he had a limit the weighed 14.40lbs., and would have won if it had not been for that one dead fish. Steve won a total of $820.00 for his weekend on the water.
Danny StAndrie came in third place with his two day total of 22.38 lbs. Danny won a Denali Rod valued at over $150.00 from our newest Sponsor DENALI RODS….
And the biggest bass of the weekend was caught by Greg Crawford . He caught the 5.09lb bass on day two and won $270.00 for that one bite. Greg is a long time friend and Sponsor of Anglers Quest. He along with his wife Judy, own Crawford Technologies Inc. And I just want to give them a special THANK YOU for their support throughout the Years.
