Anglers Quest 2010 Conroe Weekend Team Series #9 out of El Dorado Jack’s in Montgomery, TX began this event with 18 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $1210.00 purse.

The event began at safe light at 6:45 am with the playing of the National Anthem and weigh in conducted at 3:15 pm. With temps in the 70’s-90’s all day with a slight breeze this was a really nice day to be on the water. This was the last Conroe Weekend Team Series of the year. The father & son team of Julian Clepper II & Julian Clepper III after their win today were awarded the Anglers of the Year with free entries to all 2011 Conroe Saturday Team Series events. All the anglers making the cut to any A/Q Championship will also be eligible for the “Tournament of Champions” at Lake Palestine in November. Lake Conroe water was in good shape and about normal pool level with water temps running 82-85 degrees. The fish catching was poor for the anglers today on Conroe as there were only 7 bass brought to the scales today at 26.69 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 3.81 lb.

The father & son team of Julian Clepper II & Julian Clepper III from Magnolia run their Champion/Mercury bass rig to numerous areas north & south of the 1097 bridge. They used their Castaway rods to throw Tx rigged & C-rigged worms & Cranks to catch their bass in 6-16 ft water with brush piles. They were only able to catch 4 keeper bass at 14.87 lbs with a kicker of 7.80 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect $815.00 for their day on the water. They did own a Bass Guard Culling system that put an additional $50.00 in their pocket.

The Just for Fun team of Charles Bebber from Willis & Keith Caka from Magnolia run Keith’s Skeeter/Yamaha bass rig to numerous areas south of the 1097 bridge. They used their Power Tackle rods to throw Tx rigged & C-rigged worms & Cranks to catch their bass in 14-20 ft water with brush piles. They were only able to catch 2 keeper bass at 9.29 lbs with a kicker of 6.87 lbs to finish in 2nd place and collect $350.00 for their day on the water.

The team of Garrett Pierce from Conroe & Skip Reagan Jr run Garrett’s ProCraft/Mercury bass rig to main lake areas north & south of the 1097 bridge to catch 1 keeper bass on a tx-rigged worm in 14 ft water. Garrett & Skip’s day payed them a $25.00 El Dorado Jack’s food certificate and the Santone & ZZ Lures Gift Certificates.
