Rusty Clark and Cory Rambo, our 2015 Anglers of the Year, came in a solid second
Sunday April 3rd 2016 started out at a chilly 42 degrees. But didn’t stop 34 fishermen from coming out to fish Big Sam. There were 17 teams who entered to fish the fourth AQ team event of the year on Sam Rayburn.
Yes our numbers seem low, but I challenge each one of you to come out and compete against some of the best Rayburn Fishermen on the water. You think your good fisherman, or maybe just real lucky ? Come on out and show us and earn those bragging rights.
Kevin Walker represented his team for the win with five bass that weighed 26.34 lbs. Kevin reported catching his fish out of his Ranger/Evinrude rig on the south end in 15-18 feet of water cranking early followed by Carolina rigs, then later in the day flippin’. Kevin would like to thank his sponsors: Ranger, Evinrude, Apache, West Ltd., Lews, The good Lord and especially his lovely wife. Today was their One Year Anniversary and she allowed him to do what he loves…….to fish. Kevin took home the first place check for $1,300.00.

Cory reported catching their fish out of their Ranger/Yamaha rig,from far north all the way south. He says the first two of their 5 fish limit were caught early with Carolina Rigs, then the caught the rest Flippin’. This team took home $910.00 for their efforts on the water. Rusty would like to thank his lovely wife Ms. Jimmy. yesterday they celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary. Butch Hollis & Bob Taylor came in third place with five bass that tipped the scales at 20.13 lbs. He reported catching their fish South, out of his Triton /Merury rig in 5-7 feet of water on black/blue Jigs and Sinkos. Butch also caught the Biggest Bass of the tournament, a nice 8.58 lb’er. they took home a total of $490.00 for their day on the Lake. Butch would like to thank Hollis Tire for their continued support of his passion for fishing.
